SPAM REPORT REFRESHED; GOOGLE CLEANING SPAMMY SITES

August 5, 2011 0

The web has changed dramatically in the lase ten years, but the search engine giant has preferred not to have any update for their report page which relates to web spams. The update could have been done by refreshing the design of the page or making additions for the functionality to the page. But things are changing now as the algorithmic updates were recently launched by Google. These updates have forced the scenario of web searches to take a steep turn.

Now the content producers and webmasters would have to become really serious about scrapers which were never ever looked into by them. Bulk filings of web spam reports, copyright infringement and complaints are mostly seen with DMCA when the original source loses out on those imposters and scrapers who copy material and in the process they beat the actual source. This happens when anyone surfs Google to look out for that specific topic and they get the copied material links which have content copied and pasted to their site from the original source.

The reason for Google redesigning their web spam report page could be because of the above mentioned reason. The result of this update can be seen and felt now which guides the webmasters as to how can they go ahead with a web spam report. These guidelines have concise instructions which give a clear picture to webmasters as to how to go about with the web spam report.

A webmaster, in order to file a web spam report will need a Google webmaster tool account and for the convenience of the webmaster, the web address would be same as it was before. This tool can be downloaded by a webmaster from here.

This new page which has been setup by Google is categorized neatly into a number of sections which is not at all like the old page type. The classification helps a webmaster to report their problems in different forms according to their queries. The different forms are for reporting of sites that sell paid links, duplicate content or even for phishing sites. The most benefited out of this update would be the newbie webmasters who want to report a site as spam in a specific category. The earlier report page for web spam, had a common form for all options and there was no bifurcation for a specific category.

Google has not only come up with different forms, but have even added a few additional facilities which will make it easier for everyone to understand as to what is to be done and how. There are links given which guide a webmaster to informative tutorials which are developed by the employees of Google.

Google has as always emphasized that Page Rank sculpting is a very serious issue and it says that according to the guidelines provided for webmaster quality, buying and selling of links is clearly a violation. This is the basic reason because of which Google has come up with a newly added option which would be placed in the category of paid links where it allows a webmaster to report any site which encourages buying and selling of links.

Google has been facing a lot of problems from the spam pages wherein the webmasters of such pages try to improve their page rank by using cheap tricks such as sneaky redirects, cloaking, doorway pages or hidden text. These spam pages with their tricks degrade the search engine platform. Google inspires webmasters to report any site which is spammy and uses their content to get a better rank, then they should report it.
