FACEBOOK-MYXER TO ENHANCE ONLINE MUSIC EXPERIENCE

September 22, 2011 0

Facebook is working hard to integrate its users to the music world via its own social networking source. Recently, there were a few leaks related to Facebook Music and now there is a much more reliable update that Facebook would offer an app soon from Myxer Social Radio. This integration would bring friends together, connecting them to the strings of music. The procedure is simple, yet effective. As one is listening to a song via this app, they can create rooms or join one made by their friends. Myxer even has a few recommendations, which enhances the experience in there.

This means one would experience virtual listening rooms via this new social Internet radio service, wherein Facebook members would have a opportunity to not just listen to music, but at the same time even have a real-time chat about music with their friends.

Myxer Social Radio app would be a fee one and one would see its launch later this year. Once the app is downloaded, one can log in with their account and see which of their friends are also using the service. This service is quite similar to that of Pandora’s streaming service, allowing people to join different listening rooms or channels based on musical artists.

Myxer, on its own has an existing mobile music service, including almost 49 million users, but this integration would take it to a new high, giving Facebook users an opportunity to chat about the song and even record a “Song Story,” a 30-second video where someone can explain what the song means to them. This has not been an option ever for the integrated duo.

Myxer’s CEO Myk Willis told TechNewsDaily that they see this as an opportunity to gel users together via music and at the same time to improve the music experience through social content. The main point here is that, to discuss about a specific song or artist, one can have a discussion, regardless of the geographical locations of the interested parties. Willis even said that this app is more for those who want to strengthen their ties with real friends, rather than just making new connections. He continued saying, “Digital natives enjoy interacting with their friends and this gives them another way to connect as they listen to music.”

For those who like to give a view on a specific song or artist, there is an option, wherein they can vote on whether or not they like the song that’s playing in the listening room. The ‘majority rules’ factor is live and kicking here as if most of the users vote against the song, Myxer would play another song.

In a related development, Facebook music would be launched tomorrow, but its working was tweaked by a Facebook employee, which is deemed as an “accidentally revealed” update. Ji Lee, the creative director that Facebook had an update which is shown in the screenshot posted below:

The tweet was however deleted within a few minutes, but before the tweet gets deleted, Mitchell Holder grabbed a screenshot. Can this be called ‘yet another leak?Whatever may be the case, this would make many a users curious, like the Pandora’s box.
