Sunnyvale, California — Yahoo Inc. might be witnessing the dust settling down in at Sunnyvale, Calif., company after nine months of severe cuts internationally. Following the recent management shake-up of Yahoo’s global marketing executive team with the appointment of Elisa Steele as CMO, and the recent hiring of Penny Baldwin as SVP of global integrated marketing and brand management, and now Yahoo promoted consumer marketing director “James Tipple” to take over the role of European senior marketing director.
Tipple replaces Kristof Fahy who was recently promoted to the newly created role of international marketing vice president earlier this year. Fahy now heads up Yahoo!’s marketing efforts outside of the US. Tipple will handle the development of marketing strategy across the European regions where the Internet service provider has a presence.
Tipple came to Yahoo in 2006 from Vodafone Live! where he was group marketing manager. He has previously held marketing roles at BT Cellnet, which is now known as 02 and GlaxoSmithKline.
Yahoo is clearly ramping up for the upcoming overhaul of its brand and marketing re-branding under new chief marketing officer Steele, who was appointed in May by new CEO Carol Bartz.
The Internet company recently confirmed that it is working on several initiatives “to unleash the incredible power globally” of its brand.
