SKYFIRE’S FLASH VIDEO APP FOR IOS

August 1, 2011 0

Skyfire has come up with a new application which would support only iOS devices. Flash video would be easier to play on an iOS device with this new app. The app is named Skyfire VideoQ it looks like its a perfect solution for those who face persistent problems while playing a Flash video on their iPhone. The company has priced this app at 1.99 USD for a limited period.

Skyfire has not restricted the use of this app for the Skyfire browser users and have announced that any browser which is used on one’s iOS device would be supportive for this app. One just has to register their iPhone’s e-mail address in this application. Having registered, there would not be a problem for a user to play and Flash video on any browser. The company however has a link for registering the unplayable videos on a user’s Web browser. For any such complaints, one can use the preferred browser’s Mail Link option and enter video@Skyfire.com.

Nonetheless, on opening this app, there would be a video queue which would have a list of Flash videos to be played in the ‘waiting’ list. there are a number of Flash-only sites where one can find videos which need no conversion as they are already converted and these videos work fine on iPhone. The list even includes videos on Adobe. But for the other sites, VideoQ app does a really good job. The conversion is good. However the frame rate somewhat deteriorates. But it is something which can be expected as the service is provided to a user when the conversion of the video is via Skyfire’s server and then it is sent back to the user.

One can view a sneak preview of the said application below:

Skyfire’s VideoQ application is not just a Flash video converting app, but it does act even like a media hub. This hub is for watching those videos which have been discovered by the user. If a user wants to view a list of the most popular videos of the user, then one can click on a button which is placed at the interface’s bottom section and is titled, Hot. There are even a few channels which will help the user to choose a video according to their preference. The categories are titled as Humor, Sports, News and Technology. Additionally, one can even add categories to the list such as Kinds, Anime and many more.

Skyfire’s this app might not turn out to be the best for now as there aren’t many sites where there is a need for conversion of Flash videos to watch. Till one finds a site to convert a Flash video, it could be only used majorly as a media hub which is again not a bad option to use. But in the coming future as and when there are a number of sign ups, the content only proves to grow.

For the availability, Canada and US are the only places where it has been introduced, but as it is a universal app, it looks forward to expand its base to many more countries in the weeks to come. The introductory price in Canada and US is 1.99 USD.
