SECURITY FOR M.FACEBOOK

August 11, 2011 0

Facebook has been taking up a number of steps to highlight its ‘user safety’ factor. Recently it announced that it would restrict access to inmates and now the update on Facebook Security says that the social networking giant has come up with a mobile security tool.

The security section read that as there are many users using Facebook via mobile phones, it looks forward to provide the security tools for the users wherever they may be. The new tools introduced for mobiles were the ability to reset your password and social reporting. It stressed on saying that its engineers have sweat their working hours to come out with these tools for the users.

Social Reporting was out for Facebook users a couple of months back. It was a tool which helped the users in resolving concerns which related to any content, may it be profile or posts or anything. This makes a task easy for those users who do not like a specific content and the further communication process becomes quite simple.

To detail the theory with the help of an example, it can be said that if one does not like an image of their own which has been uploaded by someone else, then social reporting can be used . This will help them to communicate with the person who has uploaded the image and ask them for removal of the image from Facebook.

Dan Muriello, a Facebook engineer blogged that this feature of Facebook has seen good response as for now as for the stats, 70% of the images which were reported have been out of Facebook by the owners. This facilitates communication between the related parties without Facebook teams intervening in any case. The post stated that m.facebook.com is being tested with this update and in the near future, it would be added to all mobile devices.

The other feature is unique and is termed as ‘ Mobile Password Reset’. There have been issues reported when one gets locked out of their Facebook accounts or maybe they forget their passwords to login to Facebook. This feature would help a user to easily get back to Facebook. The Facebook team is working on allowing the users to reset their password through their mobile devices.

The process is simple as one has to provide a recovery e-mail address where the recovery link would be passed on it. Additionally, it offers a few more ways which can be used by Facebook to confirm the identity of the user. It was however stated that the rolling out of this update will be slow yet steady so that the Facebook team gets a feedback from users for this update.

The team of Facebook has been working hard, so that the experience of the users is improved in every possible way when they are on Facebook. They aim not only to upgrade it for the web but even for the mobiles. One can even follow the Facebook Security Page in case of any update they require in regards to Facebook Security.
