Microsoft’s Bing Introduces New Event Planning Tool “Bing Events”

Redmond, Washington — Having rolled out a number of new features recently, and now Microsoft’s search engine Bing is geared up to unleash a new event-planning feature, dubbed “Bing Events,” which has been designed to make it easier to organize nights out.

Apparently, the new social event planning program, dubbed as “Bing Events,” is considered to be the latest in a series of desperate attempt by the company to thwart the brutal domination of Google in the global search market space. Google currently retains the vast majority of the UK search market, however.

Now searching for a celebrated venue for organizing any “events” will now bring up a timetable of upcoming activities, and provide information about the events, restaurants as well as parking on the Microsoft’s search engine Bing.

The new social planning tool will collect information from various sources to cover as many as 10,000 venues spread across more than 2,450 locations in the United Kingdom.

“This is the first time a prominent search engine has provided a fully comprehensive events listing with all the details needed to ensure a fun night out,” reads a Microsoft statement.

Microsoft also explained that whenever a user enters in a place name, or a musical concert, with the word “events” tailing it, it will instantly display a timetable of events. If a particular band or artist is playing, the user can search for the name plus ‘events’ and then click on the events tab. The events will be categorized on the basis of its scheduled date as well as the event-category.

In addition, further assistance will be provided to users. Bing employs data provider Eventful to compile the listings, which delivers information on maps, directions, restaurants and even parking details, the company claims.

There is also an option to sort by date and event category.
