MICROSOFT FOR REVIVAL BING?

July 22, 2011 0

Microsoft is planning to revive Bing experience for people and the innovation sounds interesting. This is no where a new beginning for a search engine fight as Bing is in no comparison with Google. But for sure the innovative tactics being used by Microsoft is surely going to give Bing an encouraging kick to get a good share in its field.

Bing, since its launch has not seen great success and the efforts put in by Microsoft has been hearting. But yet again the Software giant is back with Bing and this time it is planning for live tiles which would be placed on its homepage which is however being tested internally. WinRumors reported that this does not include just one specific feature but its a bunch of features. Live tiles would be supported by a few updates which would be there all the time. These updates relate to maps, trends, news and weather. Again there are even targeted ads which would even be seen on the homepage.

What could the tiles be for? It has been reported that efforts are being put in via these tiles for the creation of Bing’s HTML5 version. This version would include hovering windows, animated home page images and smooth transition effects. These would help in keeping navigation tabs along with a constant viewing while one scrolls away.

There was a blog post on Within Windows blog where one could view an early screenshot of the anticipated Bing along with live tiles. It was gathered via an exploit which has been under cover as it was exposing the histories of searches made by other users. It one looks at it closely, they would notice that there is a similarity in the layout which Bing has here and in its app which runs on iPad. The similarity is found for the tile strips which is taken after “Metro” user interface which the software giant is currently leaking out on many products registered under its name.

There is still more to this new version. It has been reported that Microsoft is hard training for instant search which would be quite similar to the service introduced by Google in the last year. But to know the level of resemblance, one will have to wait and use it. Google’s version had continuous updates made for the query typed in by a user in the search engine.

This new update as is in its testing phase, there has not been any confirmations as to when would it be available for everyone’s use. One cannot even assume that the date of its launch would be close because Microsoft had come out with a teaser of this new feature in last year in September and even earlier this year in March a preview site was launched which was for its long forgotten search engine, Bing. This preview site is no more active but the staffers of Microsoft have been spending some time even tweeting the updates for revival Bing and this might just be an indication that its coming up soon.

There are main news articles related to social networking fights, mobile supremacy fights, but the long forgotten search engine fight might just become the talk of the town soon.
