In a blog post, Sandy Gupta, general manager of Microsoft’s open solutions group, stated that after carrying out a survey which was made over the last five years, he expects the technical collaboration would help in building relations further. Gupta termed the management of the systems as a critical building block and would be good specifically for cross-platform virtualization. According to Gupta, they are working hard to help their customers to get hold of the cloud as the customers had sentimentally expressed their thoughts on the future of this collaboration which was to end soon.
The customers of this collaboration have been ranging from financial services to health care and from oil and gas to manufacturing. For the count there have been 725 customers all over the world. There is an added benefit provided from SUSE’s end for the customers so that they get the consolidation for their Linux support. For Linux Enterprise Server, SUSE offers subscription support . This is an active option even for community Linux distributions such as CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
