Redmond, Washington — In an attempt to bolster the appeal of Bing to users of every stripe, Microsoft’s Bing has announced expanded options for earning credits from its Bing Rewards Program, out of its walled garden and into its homepage on every modern browser in the US.
Ever since introducing Bing Rewards in September, the Bing Bar has been the main way for members to learn about new offers to earn credits, track their credit balance and redeem their credits for Rewards. The Bing Rewards Preview is now consolidated directly into Bing Web search.

This uncovers it to people using the latest versions of the Firefox, Chrome, and Safari browsers and there is nothing to download. It uses your Windows Live ID to keep track, then it offers you point deals in a drop down box at the top of the page. Previously, the only way to receive credits was by using the Bing Bar, a toolbar only available for Internet Explorer.
“We have received lots of feedback about the Bing Rewards experience and how to continue to improve it. One of the most frequent suggestions has been to make it available to more users on other browsers and platforms,” the company informed.
By expanding the ways to participate in Bing Rewards new members are no longer limited to using IE and the Bing Bar. Existing members can now sign in to Bing to continue earning credits when they are on a computer without the Bing Bar installed.
This is what the new in-homepage Rewards interface looks like:
Interestingly, now with Bing Rewards, members are shown all the great features Bing has to offer while earning credits that are redeemable for rewards. Similar to the site preview boxes, offer notifications will be displayed to members who are logged in to Bing, which inform members about free ways to earn credits, and could include searching on Bing, checking out new features, or learning about ways that Bing can help you make faster and more informed decisions.
Moreover, offers and the number of credits you receive for completing them change regularly so make sure to click the Rewards button in the header to check out your latest earning opportunities. Also, Bing has also expanded the rewards available in their redemption center, adding gift cards to popular retailers and service both online and off. These include Amazon, Starbucks, Crate & Barrel, FarmVille to name a few. Microsoft will even be offering a sweepstakes for a trip to Hawaii.
Furthermore, as for rewards, you need to hit around 1300 to 1600 to get a prize worth $10, such as an Amazon gift card or a paperback book. They do have a nice variety of rewards beyond gift cards, such as Xbox points, sweepstakes tickets or you can donate your points to charity.
