MARKETERS REJOICE WITH TWO NEW TWITTER TOOLS

December 15, 2011 0

Twitter is a micro-blogging platform, which people love to be on. Most to the tweeples still like to be well equipped with a number of search functionality and analytics related to their Twitter accounts.

Many a users do have questions in their mind, as can they ever get a tweet they had made months ago? Scrolling might help in cases where the tweets are less, but if a user tweets more than 10 tweets even in a day, he/she might be dejected and leave the battle before even its fought.

That is not all! A few other queries might be like:

  • What devices do you use to tweet?

  • Where are your followers from?

  • What types of tweets get the most RTs or replies?

  • What time of day are your tweets more influential?

  • Who unfollowed you and when? (Was it something I said?)

One might even wonder if Twitter has those details or no. However, finally here is a solutions for most of the tweeples. One cannot view them through the Twitter interface, but still one can check it. Here are two new favorite tools: ThinkUp and SocialBro.
ThinkUp, basically is a free open source web app, which keeps a track of all the activities of a user on social networks like Twitter, Facebook, and Google+. It keeps a detailed database that a user can control. The setting up and installation can be a bit frustrating, but the results one will get after that is satisfying. Basically, it takes approximately 15 minutes to set it up and one needs a website running PHP and MySQL. The process can sound easy for one who has gone through a a WordPress installation process.

Once done with the installation of the software, a user has to link their social media accounts. Expectedly, one can get confused and might even feel that its eats up a considerable amount of your time. Just follow the software, and things would turn out to be easy.

No more hassle once linking accounts is done with. Every detail is there, IN DETAIL! Its a clean Twitter backup and allows users to download the data even by exporting it in Excel.

The other tool is SocialBro. Interestingly, it is much more popular than the former tool (discussed here) on Twitter. May be because the developers of this tool have made a locally run application (also free!) that is built and run on the Adobe AIR platform.

For the working, however ThinkUp has an upper hand. There are a few similarities in the functionalities, but on a larger scale, SocialBro is primarily about better understanding your friends and followers.

SocialBro is popular because it is more like a powerful search engine, which allows tweeples to not only parse, but even tag those in your social circles. It is more than just stats and it makes things look refreshingly likable. Again, SocialBro is even quicker that ThinkUp.

For the similarities, one can see how many Tweets a day someone has, find the best time to tweet, and discover people who are following you, but you don’t follow, all at a glance.
