iPhone 4S has been the device of 2011, from the Apple’s warehouse, but it was not released in China. The news has finally broke that the tech giant has finally cleared the last hurdle, and is ready to release its device in China. This means that the New Year will see Apple’s iPhone 4S entering the Chinese mainland. Officially, the China Unicom and Apple representatives have declined to comment and have not yet named a launch date. But it was noted that the device would hit the Chinese mainland in January, 2012. Remarkably, the Chinese New Year falls on the 23rd January, so a surprise for the Chinese New Year is surely in store.
the most important thing about this release is that Apple is a happy seller in China, despite a number of issue and conflicts it is facing in there. Apple users in China will want to pounce on to this opportunity and grab an iPhone 4S art the earliest. The enthusiasm can thus give this device a ‘sold out’ tag within a week’s time too.
The concern Apple was facing was related to obtaining China’s compulsory network certification on December 21st. To add to the same, this series of devices from the Apple warehouse had received its three-year Network Access Permit from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology earlier this month.
But there is a real good news for the tech giant to note. The People’s Daily, official news site for the Central Committee of the China Communist Party, revealed that distributors in Shenyang and Shenzen are already receiving bookings for the phone.
“I am sure the device will hit the Chinese market before the Spring Festival. We are trying to release it before Jan 1st,” said China Unicom’s sales executive Yu Yingtao earlier, hoping for a December launch.
China is the world’s largest smartphone market, which took over the United States market count, earlier this year. Currently, it was estimated that China has around 952 million smartphone users.
Most importantly for Apple, China is Apple’s fastest growing market, with sales going up 270 percent from 2010.
But still, a lingering thought might strike many. Apple is going to probably launch its iPhone 5 in the first quarter of the next year. Would it affect the sales of iPhone 4S? Will people wait till iPhone 5 is launched or will they pounce on to this iPhone 4S smartphone?
These questions might hold good value, but will be unanswered till the iPhone 4S is actually launched in China.
