New York — Aiming to make it faster and easier for customers to find small brick and mortar businesses that advertise with Google when searching on Google Maps, is about to get a boost. Google AdWords has just recently announced the launch of new features for its Local Business Ads that appear on Google Maps.
These new features include enhancements to the Ads Information Window and Reporting Capabilities for Adwords advertisers on Google Maps, along with a separate upgrade that would allow stores to track how much of a gain the things give them.Users selecting a local business through organic or sponsored listing within Google Maps will now see an information window containing basic information on that firm and links to allow them to receive directions, see the company in Street View or save information to My Maps. These links include “Get Directions,” “Street View, — where available,” and “Save to My Maps.”
Amanda Kelly, at the Inside AdWords blog explains, “Previously, a click on your ads info window could only take the user to your website.” With these new features, users can now interact with the information window to get more information about the business right on the window itself. But most useful of these enhancements is a link that will instantly allow users to send the business information to their email or mobile phone.
Secondly, there is a new reporting feature. This ad reporting capability will be on hand at Google Adwords Report Center and advertisers and webmasters can easily access this report by logging on to their Adwords account. The Ad Report provides data that will be helpful in assessing ROIs from local business ads, offering detailed information such as the number of users who have opened the information window as well as the number of clicks on the new interactive links.
AdWords Editor 7.0 was released by Google in December last year.
Kelly added: “The new interactive links and the interaction reports should not only help customers connect with you faster but should also help you understand how to better target Maps users versus Search users. We will keep posting on this blog when the new changes to the reporting capabilities take effect.”
