And due to the popularity of the Google’s business strategy, Google decided to expand its operation further across India. The AdWords platform will be offering free expert support to small and medium business in carrying out an online advertising campaign, to help them procure new customers. Part of the process would involve Google setting up Adword accounts for these business for free and to design a customized online ad campaign for them.
It is a totally new approach for the Indian online advertisement market. According to reports from PTI indicates that under the program, Google specialist would create “Google Adwords accounts” and customized ad-campaigns for small and medium sized business from the state, just for free.
Explaining Google’s move, Sridhar Seshadri, Google India Head of Online Sales said, “We will provide free expert support to help entrepreneurs build an online advertising campaign to grow their business through ‘Jump Start’”. “Google search allows them to target customers across the world and ensures that they only pay when their advertisement is clicked on,” he further said.
Initially, specialists of Google will be working with the businessmen of the SMBs, and help them set up their Google AdWords accounts and will be provided free coupon worth Rs. 2500 on dialing a toll free number.
With the SMBs constituting upto 80% of businesses in India, this shall provide a good platform for Google to expand in the Indian market. With the help of online advertising, SMBs can gain a lot. Seshadri said, “By extending free support and advertisement offer on Google search in the state, we want to encourage these businesses to grow and gain from the benefits of internet advertising.”
Google has recommended to start this program at a minimum amount of Rs. 200/- per day, thus enabling the growth of the SMBs. In addition to this, the SMBs are permitted to pay on the basis of performance, control costs, thereby helping them not only to identify and understand potential customers, but also to target accurately.
Google specifically targeted Rajasthan because the state is very famous for its tourism and it is also a center of textile and jewelery exporters among many other products. This move is mutually beneficial to both sides. It will help Google significantly gain foothold in the Indian online advertising and marketing space while SMBs benefit by having access to an immensely growing method of advertising for little cost.
