iPad has seen success with a number of iPad-only apps, but one of these apps will now be out for the iPhone too. Flipboard has finally come up with its iPhone version. The popular iPad magazine is no more an iPad-only app. It is still a free app and one can use it just like they have seen it on the iPad, well almost.
One can fine it in the App Store, and its titled clearly to be catchy enough for the iPhone users.
Talking about the announcement, there was a blog post wherein the new app was detailed by Flipboard. They called it the moment so many readers have asked for. Additionally, Flipboard 1.7, includes a new slideshow feature called Cover Stories. This is an interesting upgrade as it has been billed as a place to catch up on news, updates and photos Cover Stories looks great on the iPhone.
An extract of the blog post read as:
The more you interact with your friends and the stories being shared, the smarter Cover Stories gets. You can refine what appears here by adding content to your Flipboard, muting anyone you’d rather not hear from, and connecting to your social networks. Cover Stories will be coming to your iPad in the near future.
One might think that the iPhone version of Flipboard might not be best suited on the iPhone because the small screen isn’t well suited for the magazine-app format. But that is not an issue. Flipboard’s legendary UI/UX combined with Cover Stories makes Flipboard a compelling iPhone app and a potent competitor to Pulse News for iPhone.
Flipboard CEO Mike McCue said in a statement, “The iPad is an amazing device that challenged us to rethink how people discover and share social news.” He added, “With the iPhone we redesigned Flipboard for a new use case, where people want to find the things they care about even faster and multiple times every day. Flipboard for iPhone puts all the power of Flipboard in your pocket.”
Flipboard for iPhone is a pocket rocket and it definitely is her to impress. The same can be viewed in a video posted below:

Briefing about the Cover Stories, it would help the iPhone user in catching up with the best and the most preferred news, updates and photos. This can be noted as Flipboard says learns from a reader’s interactions with the content and helps them quickly catch up with some of the most interesting news, updates, and photos being shared at that moment.
However, there might a number of other details, which the company would want its current users and potential users to know, along with the media. That seems to be the reason as McCue is expected to discuss the app further during a scheduled appearance tomorrow at the LeWeb conference in Paris.
As of now, the new app in the App Store might be hot and fresh for many to download. More like the ‘hot new girl in town’. But the reviews from those who use the Flipboard app for iPhone, is still what one would want to know.
