A news network has never been streaming all day long ever on mobile phone or even online. But CNN now has took the news world to yet another step and has come up with a 24 hour service which would let viewers stream this news network anytime on their mobile phones or via any online medium. However the app for CNN would let viewers access HLN along with CNN on CNN.com all throughout the day. For now this app is only for iPod Touch, iPhone and iPad.
CNN has not just launched this new service to stream their news network live, but it has also made a revelation that one will be able to view the new streaming in a much better viewing experience. CNN claims that this would create an integration which would be perfectly consistent and would give a feel of watching a video player which would be of high quality when one views live network coverage. The HD quality experience is a definite yes as it has been hard worked on.
CNN Worldwide President, Jim Walton said that CNN’s main aim is making more news and related material content wise available to viewers via different mediums. This would even increase the participation of CNN in the TV world. He added that they know that taking an initiative would only take them another step in the preferred direction. CNN team believe that their growing potential depends on how they keep the news network relevant and essential for the know
ledge of the viewers wherever they go.
One surely needs Internet connection for using this service and with it an iDevice is even required. This is possible if one gets connection subscribed for Internet from Suddenlink, Dish, AT&T U-verse, Comcast and Cox or any other Internet provider who is participating for it. If one uses an application like Cablevision and TWCable, then one would notice that they would be getting the coverage of CNN live already. This can be a reason for non- availability of Time Warner from this new app. If one is of the thought that they would not like to subscribe via these participating Internet providers, then they would not be able to view the live coverage of HLN and CNN channels. However their limited service which helps them watch ‘Live Events’.
Talking about this service via the participating Internet service providers, it can be said that the videos of course begin with an ad, but apart from that there is no other problem which would be faced by a viewer. After the ad it is all coverage and there is no interruption and no shuttering problems even. Again the HD viewing makes it a great experience. Apart from the full screen mode and pausing, there are other special features even available which include fast forward and rewind.
If one wants to download the CNN app, one can go to the app store on the given link and download it. It is free of cost. Another possible option is to update their current CNN app. After going on the given link, one needs to just choose ‘live TV’ which is an option available at the top. Then one has to log in when one gets a prompt. Selection of preferred participating Internet provider should be done and finally one can enter their password along with their name.
This app is out in mobile phones only for the Apple devices and there is no information as to would CNN make such apps for other service providers or no. Android users might even have an eye on this app if its on its way.
