‘BATTERYGATE’ BUGS iOS 5 OWNERS

November 4, 2011 0

Post-Jobs, Apple has faced a number of problems, may it be for its iPhone 4S response or the iOS 5. Tech Giant, Apple has finally spurred out a few thoughts on the battery issues, a number of customers have been facing with their iOS 5 powered devices. Basically, a fix for the same is in process and would be out soon. Connecting with the outside world, Apple confirmed that its latest operating system for mobile devices, had a few issues in regards to the battery with iPhones. IOS 5 was released only a fortnight ago.

Apple briefed its thoughts to AllThingsD, saying, “A small number of customers have reported lower than expected battery life on iOS 5 devices”. It even added, “We have found a few bugs that are affecting battery life and we will release a software update to address those in a few weeks.” However, Apple did not further comment on the matter.

It was noted that the Cupertino-based giant would seed a minor update to developers, iOS 5.0.1. This would even address the battery life issue. The other issues, which would be addressed in the update include, fixing up of multitasking gestures the first-generation iPad, resolving some issues with Documents in the Cloud, and improving Siri for Australian users of the iPhone 4S.

The soothing news ended with frustration as many noted that the update “will take weeks”. The users were angered as they have not been able to enjoy the battery life of their iPhones for more than 12 hours in a day.

Strangely, the problem shares resemblance to the issues, which were faced by the iPhone 4 users in ‘Antennagate’. For the response, many note that there is a response from Apple, but still it has been less than ideal, as it has not publicly acknowledged a problem until now.

In the antenna-related issues reported with the iPhone 4, the then CEO, late Steve Jobs had a discussion with the reporters at a special press event. He had detailed about how the company intended to resolve the said issue for the smartphone. Additionally, he had answers even to how the company would work out their reputation equation amongst its customers, which is something the company holds seemingly ahead of anything else.

Talking about the recent ‘Batterygate’, iPhone 4S owners were handicapped as they were left alone to find out their own solutions. Some succeeded in finding resolve in a location-based setting deep within the operating system. The majority were only raged and frustrated with poor response from Apple to the issue, as they just came along with tips and advice for fellow iOS 5 users in the Apple support forums since the problems were first reported.

Apple, with a few brilliant efforts have been through a phase, wherein the iOS device owners rely completely or almost completely on the tech giant, believing that the issues will always find a fix. This maybe is even one of the reasons that the iPhone 4S has been the most popular selling smartphone the company has ever produced, selling millions in the first week alone. Even Sprint and AT&T reached record sale highs.
