AOL Rolling Out New Video Chat Service Aims To Live Up To Competition

New York -- Merely days after Microsoft made the biggest gamble in its 36-year history--paying $8.5 billion for Skype -- AOL Inc. has decided to dip its toe in the online video chat world with AOL AV, rolled out the first version of a free video chat service for its AIM instant messenger over the weekend that does not require users to log in or download any software.

AOL Snaps Up Another Googler For Mapquest

New York -- In a bid to spread its innovation, it seems like MapQuest is prepping a massive management shakeup. The wholly owned subsidiary of AOL Inc., over the weekend announced that it has hired an ex-Googler to run Mapquest out in Denver, as a VP of Product Management: Vijay R. AOL Axes 20% Of Its Workforce Globally As It Integrates Huffington Post
