New York — Seeking to broaden its online distribution sphere, Scripps Networks on Wednesday announced a partnership with AOL to deliver clips from its collection of leading lifestyle content to online consumers through AOL Video, and selectively throughout AOL Food, AOL Home and Slashfood later this summer, the companies said today.
Highlights from chosen HGTV series will be offered on AOL Video, including Carter Can, Color Splash, Deserving Design, Design on a Dime, House Hunters, I Want That! and Sleep on It.
AOL Video will also offer clips from Food Network shows like Ace of Cakes, Barefoot Contessa, Down Home with the Neelys, Good Eats with Alton Brown, Paula’s Home Cooking and Quick Fix Meals with Robin Miller.
“These brief highlights allow our fans an extra access point, and introduce a new audience to our brands,” said Deanna Brown, president of the interactive group for Scripps Networks. “The partnership also supports our strategy of growing a wide footprint in the categories of home, food and living.”
“In May, Scripps, owned by E.W. Scripps, started to place its clips on Google’s YouTube.”
In the meantime, content from DIY Network plays like Amazing Log Homes, Bathroom Renovations, Cool Tools, Desperate Landscapes, Man Caves, Rock Solid and Sweat Equity will be accessible as well. And from Fine Living Network, highlights of All-Girl Getaways, American Shopper, Great Cocktails, Real Estate Confidential and Shopping with Chefs will be featured.
Scripps fans and AOL users will now be able to access program sections from HGTV, Food Network, DIY Network and Fine Living Network by visiting AOL Video’s channel tab located on the homepage. Furthermore, Scripps videos can be found through AOL’s video search, powered by AOL’s Truveo video search engine.
