Android users might feel that Christmas has come in a month and a half before schedule as there are many things happening to help an Android user to enjoy their gadgets to the fullest. Earlier today, there was news that Google launched Google Music for one and all, an extension to which could be downloaded to an Android device too. Now, the news notes that Adobe has launched its Touch Apps , which can be downloaded from the Android Market. This would definitely be a factor to improve the professional-level creativity to millions of tablet users.
This new set of Adobe Touch Apps include: Adobe Photoshop Touch; Adobe Collage; Adobe Debut; Adobe Ideas; Adobe Kuler; and Adobe Proto. A basic detailing of each and every app can be noted as below:
-
Adobe PhotoshopTouch for image editing
-
Adobe Collage for moodboards
-
Adobe Debut for presenting and reviewing creative work
-
Adobe Ideas for sketching
-
Adobe Kuler for exploring color themes
-
Adobe Proto for website and mobile app prototyping.
David Wadhwani, Adobe Digital Media Business Unit senior vice president and general manager stated that Adobe Touch Apps would revive one’s way of using their tablets. The transformation would be from the traditional, mere consumption devices to vehicles for expression and creativity.
Although Photoshop Touch seems to be the best make of the lot, designers would even like Adobe Debut and Adobe Proto to the core. The former can be used to present ideas to clients, while the latter can be used to draw up design prototypes.
Adobe is a brand, which is associated with design tools, helping millions all over the world design creations in numerous forms. However, it had limited such tools majorly to the desktop version. Android market has an app named ‘Photoshop Express’ which is nothing more than a basic editing app. Earlier Adobe ad announced that it would be coming up with a number of touch apps, which would be high on professionalism.
It seems it is delivering the promise with a whole new set of Touch apps announced here. However, there are bound to be a few limitations. But still, Adobe Photoshop Touch stands out to be a very close make of its desktop version. For the same reason, an intro video of it can be viewed below:

If one visits the Android Market page of these apps, they can view a personal intro video of each and every app in there.
Talking about the Adobe Creative Cloud, it would be uploading the content created and designed by the user from one’s desktop to an online storage location. Later on, the same can be accessed by them on their tablet. However, the need for the Internet would be there for the transfer. Wadhwani even noted, “Our touch apps will be a key component in Adobe’s full Creative Cloud offering, coming in 2012.”
The usage of the apps would be high, but one might see a major drawback in the pricing of the app, as each and every touch app is priced at $9.99. A professional would not mind paying the cost, but for aspiring users or for those who intend to use it as their passion, it would not be fitting into their pockets.
Android users rely mostly on free and the less than $3 apps, which might come and go, but fits into one’s pocket easily. However, the usability and the level of professionalism might just get Adobe countless downloads, which might not really be possible, but achievable.
