ADWORDS EDITOR UPDATED; 9.5 VERSION OUT FOR USERS

Adwords Editor has been upgraded and the new version 9.5 provides support for Location Extensions, Campaign Experiments and many other features which can improve one’s productivity along with the management of one’s AdWords campaigns. To distinguish this version with the earlier one, the improvements have been listed as:

  • Campaign experiment settings

  • Extended support for Location extensions support

  • Background download

  • Additional campaign settings

  • Better Destination URL links

  • IP addresses and non-ASCII characters in URLs

  • Unlimited number of search conditions

  • Additional image ad dimensions

  • Revert warnings

  • Streamline Add/Update Multiple

  • Item status and disapprovals

  • Updated first page bid estimates

  • Service announcements

The top three changes count for major changes, while the other changes have a minor, but significant effect.

First in the major changes list is Campaign Experiments. One can now easily maintain their campaign experiments. One can just apply and edit an experiment status, Default Max. CPC, Display Network Max. CPC, or Max. CPM bid multiplier. The experiment status which could be at any defined level such as keyword, ad or ad group. For the bid multipliers, each and every mentioned bid multiplier can be applied and edited at the group level, but Max. CPM bid multiplier can even be worked at the keyword level. This addition even gives out an option of importing and exporting experiment status and bid multipliers and the format options are valid for both XML and CSV formats.

Next on the major list is Location Extensions, which means that the upgraded version would support many new location extensions along with the existing ones. Now a user has an option of creating new location extensions manually which may be for any address and even make a modification to the existing locations. To make things convenient, one can now upload and download location extensions in XML and CSV formats.

Last of the major list is Background Download. This option is for those who have to work on several large accounts. Now a user can get them downloaded in the background, without leaving their account which is open. This feature could save valuable time.

The minor updates are even significant enough to improve one’s productivity. Additional campaign settings, which are Enhanced CPC, Delivery method and Ad Rotation. These new settings are not only supported, but it can even be exported, imported, sorted and edited via XML. Destination URL links can now be tested if one clicks on the icon which has been placed at each and every tab of the destination URL edit box. IPv4 and IPv6 addresses along with non-ASCII domain names are are now allowed in URLs.

The advanced search option now gives an option to perform search under unlimited number of search conditions. The image ads can now have defined dimensions such as 320×50, 300×50, 425×600 and 300×600. Revert warnings come into play when one tries reverting more than one item or when a new campaign or ad group containing information. Streamline Add/Update Multiple, Item status and disapprovals, Updated first page bid estimates and Service announcements are again with minor updates.

Google states that the improvements made were on the basis of the user feedback. It even assured that one’s next log in to their AdWords Editor account will get a prompt to get their version updated. Those who prefer downloading it manually, they can do so from here.
