Google team is trying to change that thought, with a number of efforts and the latest to the effort list is Android Training. This is a yet another valuable set of tools for new and seasoned Android developers with a beta program. One would see the presentation of the same in a wiki-like format, as it would help develops create compelling apps for the Android platform.
For the topic contents, to be discussed in each class, it was noted that many commonly asked questions, including code snippets, and even thoughts on to have “prerequisites” would be on the cards. To kick start with this, there would be on a dozen courses offered with topics ranging from optimizing battery life, designing effective navigation and managing audio playback, to finding the right monetization strategy. However, in the near future, one can expect a number of more such sessions to be held.
Android Developer Relations tech lead Reto Meier explained on the Android Developers blog detailed the functionality of these classes to be held. Google seems to be realizing a number of facts, and is accordingly taking the right steps to demonstrate a genuine interest in the entire ecosystem. These efforts will help increase quality apps and games in the Android Market and at the same time it will help reduce the count of faulty and malicious apps in the Market.
It will help kill developer queries to a certain extent. Additionally, it will help budding developers understand the conceptuality.
Noting these points to be on the right track, it is important for Google to look into the other facts too. There are a number of issue because of which developers choose to make apps and games for Apple iOS rather than for Android. The two most important points are that Apple pays more to its developers and Apple is much more sophisticated as compared to Android. The latter can be said as Apple developers have to only concentrate on the iPhones and the iPads, whereas the Android developers have to look and meet the requirements of a number of device manufacturers.
But for the same, Google deserves a ‘+1’. it is diversifying its OS, whereas Apple has always tried to keep everything to itself.
Like every rose has a thorn, everything has its own advantages and disadvantages. If Apple keeps everything to itself, it has to lose the smartphone count race, may be even the tablet count race in the future. For Android developers, things might ease in the future, but for now, they can only enjoy they apps and games being downloaded on many more devices as compared to Apple.
