There was a confirmation received from Facebook that the social media giant has restructured its focus on privacy and communication. Yet again, the social networking site, will undergo a restructuring, to keep privacy issues at bay. That might not really be possible, but the efforts show that they are working hard to achieve their target. What may be the case, a ‘privacy-worried Facebook user’ needs to stress on the scheme Facebook has on the offering.
The social media giant is now made up of five groups that report to Mark Zuckerberg. This was a sheer rumor till now, but after Facebook confirmed the same, it seems that rumors can be true even.
It was noted that this major restructuring will encompass design, product, and engineering teams, in order to focus on privacy and communication. So, Facebook has socially divided Palo Alto into five groups, all of them have been ordered to report directly to the CEO of the world’s biggest social networking site, Mark Zuckerberg.
A Facebook spokesperson said in a statement, “We can confirm that in order to streamline the product development process, we have reorganized our technical teams into product groups that report into Mark.” He continued, “These groups will be led by Bret Taylor, Chris Cox, Greg Badros, Mike Schroepfer and Sam Lessin.”
The company would not leave any stone unturned to sped up its efforts to keep its users and potential investors, more than just happy. The reason behind it would be that they have faced increased scrutiny this year, and have just been out of the trauma of the charges held up by the Federal Trade Commission.
Moreover, the company will possibly go public next year, with its initial public offering (IPO) looming.
As noted earlier, this is not the first time the company is going in for a structural reform, it has happened a number of times and by now, the social networking site might have got used to handling such issues.
One cannot still think of it as a regular issue, as it can have terrible outcomes, which can go against the popularity of the site.
Facebook has not had a happy 2011, and with the year ending, it would hope that its tensed times even rest for a while at least.
Briefing about the latest restructuring of the social networking giant, it was reportedly detailed in a memo to staff, telling them the goal was to make the company more nimble and responsive to a rapidly changing competitive environment.
The issue was ignited as yesterday, there was news about a security flaw of Facebook, which resulted in exposing Mark Zuckerberg’s private photos to everyone.
