CYBER MONDAY; APPLE OFFERS ONLY FREE SHIPPING

November 29, 2011 0

Cyber Monday follows Black Friday and so do the deals. Usually companies prefer to push in their Black Friday deals to Cyber Monday, so that their sales can grow as its holiday season and people prefer buying products on which the best offers are running. But Apple seems to be adopting a uniquely different strategy for Cyber Monday.

The biggest shopping days are on and Apple has killed off its Black Friday deals, which are not available now. However, the strategy seems to be unique as the tech giant has offered free shipping for the Americans as it would bolster the deals for the biggest online shopping day of the year. There are estimates, which suggest that Americans could shell out over $1 billion during today’s shopping holiday.

One would not be wrong in saying that it is a strong offer, as Apple seems to be targeting its online sales, rather than having to move stocks out of its Apple Stores. Again, it would not be surprising as it would begin a helpful initiative, which should coax hesitant buyers into snatching up smaller items via the online store.

The offer started on Monday, and the offer is ‘on’ for each and every Apple product, no matter how inexpensive it may be. Free shipping would be on everything. Earlier, the free shipping used to kick in only when a buyer opts to buy products pricing $50 or more in totality. One would see online sales of smaller items like cases, chargers and other accessories boosting with the adoption of this scheme.

Apple’s Black Friday deals were a hit and no doubt their sales nearly peaked during that one-day sale. This was may be because Apple opted to come up with amazing offers, which were as low as $10, but moved on to $100 in totality on large items like MacBooks. Apple sources have reported that the day was the biggest day in terms of retail sales in company’s history.

The sales account for their deal success, but the fact seems to far from actual expectations of the consumers and experts. Apple’s Black Friday deals were still not competitive as compared to the deals offered by its rivals and others for the day. Other retailers comparatively had much more ambitious offers running for Black Friday. Again, Cyber Monday sees no real offer from their end.

Apple and discounts don’t really go hand in hand, and the tech giant has proved it yet again. The reason can be that the company is confident that it can make high quantity sales, without giving its consumers and prospective consumers a discount, even if it is a special holiday shopper’s day.

However, the free shipping is on every Apple product and one can avail the benefits of this offer, till December 22nd, when the free shipping period ends. It is expected that people who wish to order smaller items without feeling like they are wasting money, can make the best use of this offer.

Here is even a list of products at the prices being offered by the Apple store and its partners. Apple partners would even give away the products with the facility of free shipping.
