Android homebrew developers have been crawling towards their new set goal of getting all over the HP TouchPad with Android on TouchPad and it all happened when there was an announcement made that the TouchPad would be placed on sale for $99. The work division even had two different camps which had their emergence to work separately on a port. As for now, the working is still quite slow.
The two groups working all shifts to get their objectives fulfilled, have a primary objective that the working of the touchscreen should be proper as having a tablet which does not have touchscreen support will be more or less useless. However, both these groups have been demonstrating the TouchPads which the touchscreens functioning.
Touchdroid is the first group who have their working on for an Android port. This group had its formation basically for working on this project and just a day back they came up with a solution for the nasty touchscreen driver problem. The other group, CyanogenMod has a known reputation in the Android world and without any doubt are the most popular homebrew group working with Android phones.
CM7 port even had posted a video demonstration of the working of the touchscreen support for TouchPad. But when Touchdroid claimed that it had found a solution to the driver problem, CM7 started the blame game and posted a YouTube video demonstrating that Touchdroid group reverse engineered the CM7 driver for their project. For Android world, it may anyhow be a good news that in some way or the other, a solution was found, but it really raises doubts that would this blame game now end or just have a retaliation as it is being expected.

However, CM7 has always provided quality and has never been done on that point on a consistent basis for Android powered tablets and phones. One can even be rest assured that their working will blossom even for Android Gingerbread’s implementation on TouchPad which would be fully functional and stable.
Again, they are working on this project with a dual-boot solution which will even keep the interests of webOS users intact as the users will have an option to boot Android or webOS as per their wish. For HP, this would even be a good solution as they will not have to wipe off webOS and internally, the interested developers can even have their working on webOS based apps and games. Here again CM7 has a plus point as team Touchdroid has put forward a requirement to wipe off webOS from the systems.
CM7 port would in any case be the talk of both Android and webOS users and on the whole for the tablet owners as they are attempting something unusual for the field to make the collaboration upbeat.
For HP TouchPad, one might see a new spark which is all over its revival and if Android is to come to TouchPad, it might even be able to increase its prices and generate a better revenue from the sales. The ‘wait-and -watch’ theory needs to be adopted as within 6-8 months the hugely discounted TouchPad will flow all over the market.
