Google Chrome is growing and Google lovers would love to note that the incline curve for Chrome is catching up with Firefox globally. Internet Explorer (IE) 9 is still the best on the list making Microsoft proud all over the world. But IE has reasons to worry as Chrome has been rising at the cost of IE and Firefox majorly. It can be assumed that Chrome might possibly jump over Firefox in the near future and would eye for IE’s top slot. That might take time, but late 2012 could see Chrome closing on to IE.
Chrome has turned three years old of late and on this occasion, it had occupied the second spot in India, where Firefox is leading and Chrome pushed IE from the second spot when it gained that minor lead of 0.3% approximately. Talking about the world, Chrome just clinched on to 15.5% in August 2011, which is a percentile from the world popularity. IE had a minor fall from its 56% last month to 55.3%, which was even its new low as it kept on falling month after another. Firefox even had a global decline which was at 22.6%. Apple’s Safari was steady at 4.64% and the other small web browsers were even static.
Looking at places outside the U.S., Chrome is already a hit and well on its way to grab the top slot. This can be further confirmed with the help of the statcounter which noted that Chrome had been exceeding 20% of the worldwide Internet browser market in June. According to statcounter stats, Chrome is already ahead of Firefox in most of the places around the world. Again looking at royal Pingdom’s analysis of Web browser, one can see that Chrome is performing better in some regions. This analysis states that in South America, Chrome has 33.2% of the share which means that it has eaten up a major share of Firefox. Moreover, in a few countries like Uruguay, Colombia, Chile and Argentina, Chrome has gained the top spot, leaving behind IE.
Chrome’s success counts that it is indeed a great web browser, which is really fast and extremely secure. Google has even worked hard on adding on its privileged benefits for Chrome which has been an added advantage for its success. Chromebooks and Chrome Operating System are few of the extended help given by Google. Additionally, this may be just eye candy for the time being, but the development shows that many Chrome “Apps” would get users hooked up with their real applications. One can even run it on any PC platform, may it be Mac or Windows.
There are a few off-line Google applications which are even added for Chrome and can be counted as effective modes to improve its popularity. These offline applications would however be available for other HTML-5 enabled Web browsers too, but Chrome has got it on a priority basis. In the short run, it would bring Chrome expected success. In the long run, others will even be able to come up with real real HTML-5 compatibility in their browsers, which will then cutoff this benefit Chrome is enjoying.
