GOOGLE DOCS APP; BOOSTS LANGUAGES, SENDING AND OPENING OPTIONS

August 25, 2011 0

Google has come up with a few interesting updates for its Android OS and one of them was updating the Google Docs App. Google with this update has changed many negative reviews to positive as it has added some better supportive features along with several new features. The new update has features such as:

  • Available in 45 languages.

  • Copy an image from your Android gallery directly to the Google Docs Web Clipboard.

  • Open your documents with any compatible installed app.

  • Send any document as an attachment through email, MMS, or another installed app.

Google Docs entered the android market in April this year and allowed users to share and upload the documents which are created or edited by the user via this app. The app was specifically designed for the Android platform to save one’s time to find a document. On editing a document, it would take mere seconds to appear to collaborators. Spreadsheet changes again was an important element as it could be done in no time. PDF documents which a user accesses via their Android-powered devices along with the images, documents and much more was quite easy.

There has already been a conversion option for the users which allowed users to upload the files they wish to get the converted form of. The conversion would be in the Google Docs format. Another interesting feature here was that Google had given its users an option to click a picture of the text which is printed and Google Docs would convert it to a Google document. And finally would had an easy option ti even share it with those in one’s contact list. The earlier app had quite a few glitches which were noticed by the users and were unhappy with. One of them was that a user could not take pictures with ease to insert them in as a Google document. Now Google has integrated this option and now one can perform this task with the help of the new Web Clipboard feature.

One can now even copy images to this app which have been stored in the Gallery and then it can be inserted in their documents. The procedure is simple. Select a photo, push the ‘Send to Web Clipboard’ button and once a user opens Google Docs, they just have to past it there. The improvement list includes the opening and sending options of documents in this app. The convenience of opening a file in any other compatible viewer application such as QuickOffice and Documents to Go is now possible. One can even attach a document to their email via the app.

Language was again prompted by many users to be a problem in the earlier app, but Google now has worked on clearing the query to some extent as the app now supports 45 additional languages. Google said that this addition would encourage many users all over the world to get access to Google Docs and make efficient use of it. However the android market says that the update has 46 new languages which are now supportive of Google Docs.
