Beijing — China.com, a leading Internet services provider in China and a Hong Kong listed subsidiary of CDC Corporation, announced today Google will provide its leading search engine technologies to more China.com sites that will further enhance the search experiences for users in China.
The two companies originally partnered in 2006 to feature Google Web search, ASF (AdSense For Search) and AdSense on China.com’s traditional Chinese and English sites…
“Google’s innovations in web search and advertising have made its web site a top Internet destination and its brand one of the most recognized in the world,” said Xiaowei Chen, Ph.D., president of China.com Inc.
China.com was the first company to host Google’s Video AdSense in 2006. Video AdSense allows consumers to opt-in to video advertisements online, providing better leads for online advertisers.
Under this expanded partnership, Google will power search services on China.com’s simplified Chinese portal and China Search site (zhonghua sousuo).
“By expanding our partnership with Google, we can further improve user satisfaction and encourage more robust growth for China.com. In turn, the impressive brand equity of China.com will also help Google to expand its user base in China.”
Hong Kong-based China.com runs two Web portals — China.com and Hongkong.com — which act as marketing platforms for business partners, online advertisers and marketers. The portals also provide vertical channels that focus on automobiles, military and sports channels, among others.
“Google is devoted to bringing the best search experience to Chinese users by working with leading local partners, such as China.com, and providing advanced technology,” said Kai-Fu Lee, Ph.D., vice president of Google and president of Google Greater China.
China.com is owned by CDC Corp. The parent company also owns CDC Software, which focuses on enterprise software applications and services, CDC Mobile, specializing in mobile applications and CDC Games.
“Google is committed to putting the needs of our users first, and actively look for more opportunities to expand our services in China.”
