TRIKE ALL OVER CANADA

July 21, 2011 0

Google trike has moved in to the Canadian territory finally. Tuesday brightened as a day because Google has displayed its 3-wheeled addiction. This was enabled with the function of street view in Toronto. Yonge-Dundas square was the first to see the eye candy. The most specialized factor of trike is that one can look at those places which cannot be accessed by cars which might be theme parks, hiking trails and university campuses. Trike was first out in 2009.

The latest update for this feature of Street Views for providing people with common street images which would operate when a camera is mounted on a specific mode of transport which is driven around. This is an option available for a number of cities. Senior product marketing manager of Google, Mike Pegg said that trike would make recordings of well known places in the image form. Such places could be like the Colosseum in Rome or the Stonehenge in Britain.

This street view trike has been getting into those areas where one cannot go via cars and this is one in its major advantages which will attract more crowd towards trike. Mike Pegg excitedly said that they rode all round the Stonehenge ground and even in Rome’s Coliseum.

Google Street View is basically to get an overall view of places all over the world. This is done via Google Maps. Additionally, there are usually 2-3 cameras in a car to the max, but trike has 9 cameras which help in getting snap shots of those areas which is hard to reach for the common crowd. It sounds to be really good for the old age people and those who are facing a few disabilities. Convenience is the best advantage one can get out of it.

It is being said that a cycling duo would be roaming all over Vancouver, Toronto and many more locations in Canada. This would be for the purpose to get images from all over. The trike has somehow has helped Jonathan Chang, 27, to get his lower back strengthened. He felt so only after maneuvering the trike for almost seven hours on a daily basis. Pegg is even planning to keep the busy schedules aside and to make a family vacation via this program at heme parks. This trike which is almost white in color, has a weight of around 115 kgs. This even includes a GPS unit which is positioned on the handlebar and at the back it has a camera.

There is more coming as Wendy Rozeluk, Google Canada spokesperson said that trolley and snowmobile were the other vehicles but there are no plans for them coming up with a motorized tricycle. However she concluded saying that she was even anxious to know what is coming in next from the Google engineer’s side.
