GOOGLE PLANS TO AMUSE BUT SEO IN DANGER?

July 20, 2011 0

Google has been at its innovative best for quite some time now and yet again one can see how hard they are working not only to keep their market share active but even to keep their users more that just happy. The latest to come up is that the search engine giant has a new interface which is in its testing phase and potentially can make an alteration on click through rates (CTRs) for each and every search result. This can be termed as a denoting alteration.

What are the new changes in this new interface? This new look would comprise of detailed search options sidebar along with search box and navigation bar which would be fixed. This was noted as per a post which was posted on Google Operating System’s independent news site. For many a users it is a good innovation and there is a possibility of them even liking it. Again while using these detailed features, it is hard to know as to would many users even acknowledge it or not.

What is in store for SEO? This is a major possibility that the SEO team will have to add in a lot more efforts to just stay up in their marketing tactics. Infinite scrolling is basically one features which will not be appreciated by SEOs. This is because as users will not have to move up and down to switch over to the next page, they would not be concerned if they are opening up a link of the first page or any other random page. Infinite scrolling will turn killer for SEO further as the user can just scroll down and up to look out for their preferred pages.

An online marketing manager, Mark Baker said that if this feature comes into existence for Google users by default, then it could be possible that the user clicks more of the second and the following page results rather than clicking on the first page. He added that this is a fact which SEO professionals need to have an awareness off. Mark works as a specialist for theEword. theEword is a search agency based in Manchester.

Infinite scrolling basically will kill SEO’s basic purpose of keeping a site on the first page for the search query. If it happens, one would not want to be on the ‘traditional first page’ and would not give much weight-age to the top ten results too. This infinite scrolling might be a rumor for now but the SEO professionals should not take it lightly as Google planning of something for its search engine can anytime turn into reality. Again in case of tablet users, this will be worse as they would scroll much further because of infinite scrolling.
