Spotify’s mixture of speculation and promises, has finally paid off. Spotify has entered the U.S. Division and hopefully it is here to stay. There are many music streaming services already in US and Spotify knows its chances are quite slim but its attempt will surely vow many users in US. The reason being it is offering many features such as giving a huge song list to choose from to stream, hear to music even when offline, share it on Twitter, Facebook, even on e-mail and SMS and what not.
Spotify is a service for music-streaming which lets users to stream songs from one’s mobiles and computers. Spotify has claimed that there are millions of songs for the users to stream. Playlists here play a major role which can be created when the users boot this service and even later. There is again the drag and drop option which can be used for songs for placing a song into a given list. One can even import songs to improve there song collection in Spotify.
For those who want to use this service on their PCs, there is one free and another paid service to choose from. The free service is ad-supported and makes the users wait for a small time frame. Yet another disadvantage here is that sound quality in free service is a bit low as compared to the paid service. The paid service can be signed up for just 4.99 USD for a month which lets the users stream unlimited tracks and the list of songs is as it is quite huge. The paid service has no ads and there is no time limit too. There is yet another plan which the company has come up with. This service is for 9.99 USD and has all the features of the other paid service. Additionally this plan lets the user to use to listen to a specific song even when there is no net connection and even on one’s mobile.
In Europe, Spotify already has a registered user list of more than 10 million of which the paid subscribers user list is more than 1.6 million. But to enter the US soil, Spotify has Motorola Mobility as their partners which would be the tablet ans handset provider exclusively in here. Surely this will give rise to various campaigns which would come up to market Spotify in the coming weeks. This will give detailed information to people here about this music streaming service. These partnered companies are currently using Twitter and Facebook as a medium to pass limited invites before it is available to everyone.
Motorola was even looking to enrich its users with special and unique services and Spotify is one of those unique services which surely will be more than just an eye candy for the Motorola users. Ken Parks, Spotify’s MD and Cheif Content Officer in North America even quoted that they were excited about moving to US and they aim mainly to pass on world music to each and everyone as that they can hear their favorite songs whenever they want and where ever they are.
Spotify had made it’s debut in 2008 in Europe and since then it has a long list of users who follow Spotify for free as well as paid services. In Jaunary this year, Spotify had entered into an interesting association with Sony and after that deal, it entered into many other associations with major labels. Now its even in US. It looks like Spotify is growing at a really quick and has major objects in mind. However tasting sweet success in US will be a life time experience for Spotify.
