BBC Worldwide has made its highly popular show Doctor Who’s episode available on rent. It is for the first time that BBC has planned to take up this step and it is not shocking that it chose Facebook as an option for the rentals. John Smith, Beeb’s commercial boss said that as they have gained supreme growth all over the world, their Facebook pages were filled with requests for the guide to get back into the catalogue of Doctor Who. The success of the new series has led to the direction of this step as it has been loved by many.

Smith was even heard quoting that they intend to innovate and its just an approach from their end to use Facebook and many different top end platforms. This is just a step taken to get alongside those who have excelled innovation.

BBC Worldwide is offering all the episodes, right from the first episode which was released back in 1960. this was first telecasted on terrestrial British TV. Its being said that there are several episodes which are altogether placed in the nine stories. This even includes End of the World, Silence in the Library and Tomb of the Cyberman. This streaming would be only through Facebook and Facebook users in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, US and the Europe would have access to this streaming on Facebook.

These rented episodes would be available on Facebook for a period of forty eight hours. Those who want to view these episodes need to pay via Facebook credits. Facebook credits has been smartly chosen as its a form of payment which the Facebook users are quite familiar to and have a payment experience on a consistent basis. Again its one trusted form of payment.

Getting these Facebook credits is again easy as one can get it through the payments tab which is made available for every individual by accessing the accounts settings which is on Facebook. The other way to get these credits are to buy them through any game on Facebook.

The security settings in this case yet again is a drawback like most of the applications on Facebook. If one wants to view these episodes, firstly the HTTPS protocol needs to be turned off. This protocol allows browsing which is secure. However this drawback is one which the Facebook users are used too and should not really create any problems.

The series will be re launched and this archive is remastered digitally to be viewable on the social networking website. On Facebook, in the official page of Doctor Who, one can now watch any episode which is selected by the broadcasters. The best point here is that the bundle is not a problematic task. A user can directly follow the story-lines and need not watch each and every episode of the series.

Another upcoming news from the broadcasters is that they are even in process on launching another series The Greatest Show in the Galaxy. This again will be launched exclusively only on Facebook. In the latter’s case, a DVD version is not yet released.
