FACEBOOK FOR EVERY PHONE

Focussing on the majority-in-number feature phone (or dumbphone) users across the world, Facebook on Tuesday, unveiled its latest app – Facebook for Every Phone. This app enables the users of more than 2500 different feature phones to access the whole of the Facebook platform on their phones.

In a blog post ,on Tuesday, Facebook said, “This app not only includes Facebook’s most popular features, such as News Feed, Inbox, and Photos, but also enables you to upload photos and find friends from your phone’s contacts.”

At present, Facebook for Every Phone is built to run on only Java phones but the social media giant says it aims to support many more devices in the future.

The app is globally available on m.facebook.com and scrolling down to the download link, or by entering d.facebook.com/install directly into the mobile browser.

The app is also available in leading app stores including GetJar, Appia and Mobile Weaver.
To encourage those in emerging markets to try the app, Facebook has partnered with a number of global carriers to offer free data access with the app for 90 days.
