Search engine giant Google wants to provide more broadband consuming content in the Japanese market.
Google is looking to expand its Google Video service in Japan. It revealed that it is actively seeking partners in the country who will help in contributing contents for the service, which will be soon launched in Japan.
"We have not yet been able to introduce Google Video in Japan, and hope to do so soon," Google Japan’s President Norio Murakami said during a conference in Tokyo. "Going forward, Google’s services cannot work without cooperation from contents partners."
Murakami added that following the successful implementation of online news and book searches, introducing the video service would be the next step for the company in Japan.
Google Video service was launched in the U.S this year that gives free service to search, watch and buy television shows and other video clips that have been submitted by both companies and individuals.
Archrival Yahoo is already one up on Google as they have introduced a free video search engine in the country.
The Mountain View, California-based Google is looking to move beyond the US as it seeks new audience for its map searchers and Google video offerings. Japan with its Net savvy users is another frontier for Google.
More than half of the traffic to Google.com comes from outside its home country.
