Yahoo Mail Goes Social, Integrates Facebook Chat

Sunnyvale, California — Imagine having your social media Facebook contacts with you, even while you are sifting through your mails on Yahoo! Well, it is true, users of Yahoo Mail can now chat with their Facebook friends from within Yahoo Mail.

“To all you fellow Facebook fanatics out there, you might already know that we provide Facebook integration in our download-able Messenger client,” Yahoo Mail senior product manager Stephanie Shum wrote in a blog post. “Now you can chat with your Facebook friends in Yahoo Mail too.”

Moreover, Shum also stated that users will now have access to their archived conversations on Yahoo Messenger online regardless of which client they used. When you click on the “Conversations” tab that is below the “Inbox” option, you will instantly be able to see all of your previous conversations.

“Presently you can chat with your Facebook friends in Yahoo Mail and that to you can find the same on the left side, users will see ‘Facebook Friends’ under ‘Online Contacts’,” Yahoo stated.

“If you click on the thunderbolt, you will be forced to confirm on Facebook Connect. Once you have confirmed, your online Facebook contacts will now be visible instantly below ‘Online Contacts’ and you can chat unreservedly whilst you send or check your mails,” it elucidated.
