San Francisco — *If you ever come across a foreign language, which you are unable to read, then what would you do? However, millions of people do not know German and cannot read the millions of German-language webpages.
Google has found a quick solution with the release of a new version of the “Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer” that makes it a lot simpler, giving users one-click powers of conversion over many languages.
*{Wenn Sie jemals in einer fremden Sprache, die Sie nicht in der Lage sind zu lesen, dann ist das, was würden Sie tun? Doch Millionen von Menschen wissen nicht, Deutsch und kann nicht gelesen werden die Millionen der deutschsprachigen Web-Seiten.}
Toolbars have long been served as an handy and powerful method for software publishers to add several features to a browser at once, and the Google Toolbar is one of the most popular among these. With the new format, users get improved support for universal search.
The enhanced translate feature on the toolbar automatically detects if the language of a page you are on is different from your default language, and it allows you to translate it. “With just one click, you can now instantly translate the page and all of its text will appear in the new language,” says Google on the company’s official blog.
Nevertheless, the “machine translations” are not as perfect as “human translation”. However, earlier, the Google translate tool for Google Toolbar asked you to select a drop down menu, but now it will immediately mark up what language the page is in and let you translate with one click.
Another smart feature of the new Google Toolbar is that it keeps track of your surfing such as — if you moved to another page in the same language, it willl convert them all automatically, while pages with dynamic content are translated as and when the updates come through.
An finally, if you frequently translate pages in the same language, the Toolbar will let you translate that language automatically without any extra clicks in the future.
The feature supports 41 different languages that includes: Albanian, Arabic, Bulgarian, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Filipino, Finnish, French, Galician, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian and Vietnamese.
If you are looking for a lot of on-the-fly translation, this could be a major time saver. Google says a version for the Firefox Web browser is in the works.
