New York — In the spirit of the holiday season Skype is running a limited time offer that will surely become popular. So, if you have friends or family around the world and wish to communicate with them on their landline or mobile phone this Christmas, Skype announced that it is offering users of its service a free month of its ‘Premium’ product, which includes unlimited worldwide calling of telephones, and group video calling to a long list of countries.
Interestingly, subscribers to their service will be given a free one months’ worth of premium service, allowing users to make free calls to landlines in 41 countries and mobiles in 7 countries (including the US and Canada). The offer is hard to refuse as phone calls are expected to peak this season as people try to connect with families and friends.
Fortunately, the offer is pretty tempting though, except (for those located in China, South Korea and Taiwan) can take advantage of the offer, though the sooner you sign up the better as it is only running “while supplies last”, according to its dedicated webpage. It involves joining its Premium service–usual price $8.99 a month–which for the purposes of the offer combines with its Unlimited World subscription, usual price $13.99 a month.
However, there is a catch to this though which you should be aware of. So, if you fail to cancel your premium subscription after the 30 day period, Skype will tack them onto its paid rolls. At the same time, its a holiday time of year, meaning that its likely that demand for international calling services is high due to families wishing to stay close.
Once logged into your account you will be asked for your payment details. You can use MasterCard, Visa, PayPal or Diners. As soon as you have completed the payment details you are all set. Alternatively, you can also cancel it right after you subscribe to it since you will still be able to enjoy the free service for the full term. For directions on how to cancel, head here.
Among other great thing about using Skype is that it is not limited to the PC. If you have an Android device then you can download the app and make free calls worldwide. Just make sure to use a Wi-Fi connection since you might be charged extra if you use the data services of your carrier network.
