San Francisco -- In a surprising move, the popular photo sharing application Instagram is leaving the confines of the smartphone, and is finally launching Web-based profiles, the company announced on Monday.

New York - In an effort to make it easier for its growing audience to chat and upload multiple photos on their mobile devices, Facebook has just announced an update to their iOS app, adding new Web features to the mobile version of the social network, the first major update since they launched version 5.0 back in August.

Los Angeles - In a surprising move to increase transparency amongst its massive user base in its handling of controversial and legally tenuous messages sent via Twitter, the online micro-blogging hub has changed the way it serves copyright takedowns from rights-holders in cases of alleged violations, now “withholding” tweets instead of deleting them.

Los Angeles - To be honest, most app marketplaces seem to be a black hole for apps that do not make it into the “top” lists. And surprisingly though, it has been a while since Facebook has posted a hefty Operation Developer Love post, but salvation came this week. The social networking giant Facebook announced several updates to its app dashboard on the developer side, as well as rolling out search for App Center, allowing users to not only find apps by name but also by keyword such as “cars” or “fitness.”
