Researchers Discover Massive “Flame” Cyber Attack Across Middle East

San Francisco -- Researchers at Moscow-based multinational computer security firm Kaspersky Lab, working in collaboration with researchers from the UN's International Telecommunication Union, have uncovered a massive cyber threat, dubbed Flame, which has targeted a number of Middle Eastern countries including Israel and Iran.

According to Kaspersky, the malware Flame, 'might be the most advanced cyber weapon yet unleashed', and has been running since at least August of 2010, but likely existed prior to that.
