Google Released AdWords Editor 7.0–Ready For Download

., -- Search engine goliath Google’s continuous efforts in keeping its cash-cow alive as ever, has recently released an upgraded

version of their AdWords Editor 7.0

, which mainly focuses on providing advertisers with campaign critical metrics, is now available for download.

The previous version of AdWords editor was 6.5.1. This version 7.0 of AdWords editor has been released barely 2 months after the last major upgrade released in Oct 2008.

When you open AdWords Editor you should be prompted with the upgrade screen automatically. So, before start upgrading, you can easily checkout which version of AdWords editor you are currently using by opening AdWords Editor, then view Help/About AdWords Editor.

Adobe Squeezes AIR Brings Web–Desktop Apps To Linux

San Francisco -- Adobe Systems on Wednesday has released the Linux version of its Adobe Integrated Runtime (AIR), a platform for building programs that cross the barrier between the web and your desktop, is now fully compatible with Linux operating systems, and bringing it up to speed with the versions available for Windows and Mac users.

The company has released AIR 1.5 for Linux, the first time the Linux desktop variant has made it as a production-grade, Adobe-supported release.

While AIR applications are already functioning on Windows and Mac computers, this release would mean that developers can now build a single application that will run on pretty much every major operating system.

Yahoo Reduces Data Retention Time To 90 Days

New York -- In an effort to reinforce trust with its users, search engine pioneer Yahoo! Inc. has thrown down the gauntlet to bitter rivals Google and Microsoft yesterday by revamping its global data retention policy the shortest among peers, promising to anonymize the personal data of Web users to 90 days from the previous 13 months, half the period stipulated by the EU, the company said on Wednesday.

“According to the new policy, Yahoo! will anonymize user log data within 90 days with limited exceptions for fraud, security and legal obligations,” Yahoo! said in a move it said “sets an industry-leading approach to user data privacy.”

Significantly, Yahoo has also expanded the scope of the data that is covered by its new privacy policy to include information about which websites its users visit and the adverts they see and click on.

Microsoft’s Live Search Cash-Back Chief Brad Goldberg Leaves

Redmond, Washington -- While Microsoft continues adding up some big names from Yahoo’s search business, its own house is going through difficult times, as the company’s Live Search General Manager, Brad Goldberg is leaving Redmond to work for the Peak6 investment company, Techflash reports.

According to reports from TechFlash, Goldberg will become CEO of the online business at Chicago-based Peak6 Investments.

Microsoft confirmed the report through its public relations firm Wednesday, stating that Goldberg is leaving the company to pursue other interests, and his departure is amicable and that the company wished him well.

Google Search Suggest Incorporates Text Ads, Site Links And More

San Francisco -- Google has been vigorously working overtime to ensure that their billions in advertising revenue continue to multiply irrespective of declining global economic conditions. Their strategy: place sponsored listings into every pixel of the screen. Google Suggest, a drop-down feature in Google Search that auto-completes prospective searches, has begun testing ads that accompany the suggestions that appear when people begin typing in a search query.

Google Suggest is bundled with “a novel search feature that provides real-time suggestions while you search.” Well Google is now performing test for the placement of AdWords ads in its recently launched Search Suggest, which appeared in August this year after years of testing in Google Labs.

Scrabble Maker Hasbro Terminates Scrabulous Litigation Game Against Developers

New York -- Hasbro Inc., the world’s second-biggest board game maker, on Monday said that it has dropped its months-old trademark and copyright-infringement lawsuit against two Indian brothers accused of making a knockoff version of the Scrabble board-game for Facebook.

According to documents the toymaker filed in U.S. District Court in New York, dismissed the lawsuit Friday, without giving a reason. “Scrabulous” developers Rajat Agarwalla and Jayant Agarwalla, accused of replicating Scrabble’s rules and aesthetic, dropped the game in North America after the lawsuit was filed.

The North American rights to the original board game are co-owned by Hasbro and Mattel, sued Jayant and Rajat Agarwalla, brothers from Calcutta, India, this summer. The brothers were charged with developing the unauthorized version, called Scrabulous, after they could not find an online version they liked.

Twitter Befriends With Google Friend Connect

New York -- Google Inc. on Monday said that its new Google Friend Connect service, which connects social-networking features into participating sites, has now been integrated with Twitter.

“This indicates that now you will be able to Tweet from any Friend Connect-supported site.”

“This means that now, when you link to a friend connected site, you can choose to use your Twitter profile, discover people you follow on Twitter who are also members of the site, and quickly tweet that you have found a cool website,” explains Google Friend Connect Product Manager Mussie Shore.

“With Google Friend Connect, Twitter folks will be able to bump into and recognize each other out there on the web -- and discover new people to follow on Twitter,” says Twitter Co-founder Biz Stone on the Twitter Blog.

Google Finally Reintroduces SMS Feature Back To Google Chat

San Francisco -- A few weeks ago, shortly after introducing the SMS feature for GMail…Google suddenly pulled the service back due to some glitches. Well, Google has reintroduced the feature back, and this time for good. This Labs feature enables you to quickly send SMS messages via Gchat -- perfect for continuing to annoy your contacts with your witty links well after they leave their computer.

Google said the service encountered some problems with its first attempt to allow chatters to send text messages through their instant messaging program. Most users who checked the feature found it would not fully enable. Google assigns phone numbers for GMail SMS messages and provides keywords to block or turn off messages.
